It’s hard to imagine a tougher place for a logo to live than the barrel of an industrial-sized concrete mixer. But when Ready Mix Christchurch were ready to go with their latest truck signage, we got the call.

We’ve known Ready Mix for the past three years, and having built up trust in our abilities, they gave us the challenge:

• Give us vivid Ready Mix logos on the sides of the barrel.
• And make sure it can stand up to waterblasting every day for years.

It’s the sort of signage challenge we love – so naturally, we said “Yes! When can we get started?”

The first step was to design the logo on the computer and transfer it to our stencil-cutting machine.

Because it’s a three-colour logo, we needed to create three different stencils – one for each colour.

Then, at the Ready Mix facility in Christchurch, we masked the truck and sprayed on the colours using an automotive base coat paint.

When the colours were dry, the logo was protected with a clear sealing coat.

Job done. We’re really thrilled with the result. It looks great and will proudly represent Ready Mix for years to come.
